Sedimentology - Sediment transport and deposition is a surface formation and alteration process that is reflected in the signature of the landscape.  Whether we are evaluating barrier
island migration during the Holocene or lake bank erosional processes and stability, sedimentological knowledge is always  critical to our projects.


Geology - Geology in Natural Resources consulting?  Absolutely, the best ecologists are those with geology knowledge; the best geologists are those with ecological knowledge.  In southwest Florida an understanding of the  limestone deposition and characteristics is fundamental.

Limnology - Where do we begin?  Lake and surface water sciences is the foundation of our professional services.   Immersion in study and professional application of limnological principles in natural lake systems has provided an excellent foundation for understanding how man-made lakes  exist in the context of a community watershed.


Hydrology - "All moving water moves sediment".  Large fast flowing mountain streams move cobble and boulders.  Our small lakes and ponds move small-grained sediment through wind-driven waves.  Surface hydrology and knowledge of the regional surficial aquifer is necessary to enhance and understanding of other scientific disciplines. 

Ecology - The Coastal Plain physiographic province stretches from the mid-Atlantic states around Florida and throughout all Gulf States.  Ecological systems are surprisingly similar in many of these areas (however different in sub-tropical south florida).  Limnoterra professionals have decades of experience in the fields of Estuatine Ecology, Conservation Ecology, Forrest Ecology, Microbial Ecology, Wetlands Ecology and many other sub-disciplines.


Soils Sciences - Knowledge of soils is essential for those who are working in the field.  Experienced field scientists use knowledge of local soils taxonomy to understand vicinity drainage, hydrology and landscape modification, and to support and strengthen ecological understanding.
